Hotel Summary

Iconic Hollywood mogul meets cool, stylish enchantress at The Hollywood Roosevelt, home of the first Academy Awards in 1929. This 300-room high-rise beauty, with good bones and modern sensibilities, allows guests to sip cocktails while swimming in an outdoor pool painted by the artist David Hockney.

The hotel boasts nine restaurants and several lounges, including the famous Tropicana Bar and Teddy's. All rooms sport today's must-haves, including platform beds with premium linens, flat-panel TVs, iPod docking stations, minibars and coffeemakers. Downstairs, the lobby is right out of a movie set, with grotto bar and plenty of seating for people-watching (you never know who'll stroll through).

The Olympic-size courtyard pool and massage garden are both relaxing and energizing. The hotel provides a 24-hour concierge, valet parking and Wi-Fi for a fee. The business center has fax and copy facilities. The Hollywood Roosevelt, on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is 250 feet from Grauman's Chinese Theater.

The heritage and charm, and the hipness of the crowd.
Absolutely!! I was on the 2nd floor 'Cabana' area (not the older tower) and was not forewarned that a) they were presenting a Movie-By-The-Pool that night til midnight with super-load audio, and b) the bar was raucous until 2am Ridiculous!!!

The hotel is great, it has a the look & feel of quality.
I felt that we encountered a case of bait & switch... When we arrived the front desk representative stated that we were booked for a garden cabana but he was going to upgrade us to a 6th floor room, that was not an upgrade!!!

Elegance and history.
Rooms are too small, no open windows, eerie.

Loved the decor And atmosphere. Front desk was very nice.
Wanted to eat at restaurant near pool and couldn't because of private party. A few flies in shower. $50 a night for parking is ridiculous for hotel guest especially since no one told us in advance about the charge. We asked on our own.
